SUMMARY
Homeless customers in the Employment Services sector are often the most disadvantaged groups of job seekers, making this barrier to emplooyment difficult to navigate. Chronic homelessness can present as one of many challenges for participants, along side long-term unemployment, physical and mental health problems (including addiction), and social isolation. Dimensions of disadvantage such as ‘poverty, low income and income inequality’, ‘lack of access to the job market’, ‘poor educational outcomes’, ‘poor health and wellbeing’ and ‘lack of social support networks’ are major issues to be addressed and require a particular set of skills to navigate.
The causes of homeless are often complex and numerous, and often require a team of services to support the person.
This webinar is designed to provide Employment Services Practioners with the tools to support participants experiencing homelessness, to help them to achieve employment and improve their quality of life.
