SUMMARY
In any line of work, a client or staff member disclosing about past, current or future self-injury can be one of the most jarring experiences your staff team may hear. This webinar goes through the current Australian statistics around suicide and non-suicide self-injury, the main issues someone may be going through to lead to their behaviour and techniques and tips in dealing with hearing this from a client. This one-hour long webinar will also cover supporting a staff member that has just worked with a client who disclosed self-injury on any level.
In any line of work, a client or team member disclosing about past, current or future self-injury can be one of the most jarring experiences. This webinar goes through techniques and tips if a client shares about any form of self-injury. We also cover the current Australian statistics around suicide and non-suicide self-injury and the main issues someone might be going through to lead to their behaviour. This form of psycho-education helps our perspective and raises empathy and awareness.
This webinar also goes through if a staff member in a managerial or supervisory role hears self-injury disclosure from a team member, or a team member affected by hearing it from a client.
