SUMMARY
This 2 hour online coaching program will provide an overview of the impact of trauma and settlement from the perspective of people from refugee and migrant backgrounds.
It is designed to develop the skills and knowledge of staff to provide trauma informed services.

Facilitator
Monica Rivas
Monica is the Training Manager at The Social Policy Group. Monica’s work is to develop and deliver training programs that build the capacity and skills of participants. She has been working in the community services sector for the past 11 years, specifically with CALD communities. With a master’s degree in social work, and a background in TESOL and Training and Assessment, Monica has been able to utilise her expertise in working with refugees and migrants to design and develop culturally responsive training programs. Monica is passionate about delivering training programs that are self-reflective, innovative, and practical. Arriving in Australia as a refugee, Monica is interested in promoting and advocating for refugees through her training.
The Social Policy Group (SPG) is a national body with specialist expertise in social policy, social and community cohesion, settlement of migrants and refugees and multiculturalism, population diversity, gender equality, access and equity, community participation and inclusion, systems’ responsiveness, community outreach and engagement, and digital and multilingual communications.

The coaching program is expected to run for approximately 120 minutes including ample Q&A and discussion time. A PDF copy of the presentation will be distributed to all registrants. Once it has been completed, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion.
