Employer Guidelines on Workplace Relations
Employer Guidelines on Workplace Relations
Running a business has been made all that more complicated by all the amendments made to the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) by the Federal Government over the last year. Given the difficulty in digesting the sheer quantity of legislation passed by the Government, especially in the workplace relations area, the Australian Chamber of Commerce (ACCI) of which NESA is a member has developed some educational guides to assist its members’ businesses in becoming more familiar with these changes.
These guides are designed purely to provide digestible information to assist you and your teams to navigate the workplace relations changes. Given our connection with ACCI we are now able to pass on these resources to you. Please find attached the following resources:
• Employer Guide on Casual Employment
• Employer Guide on Delegates’ Rights
• Business Guide on Employee-Like Workers
• Business Guide on Independent Contracting
• Employer Guide on Regulated Labour Hire Arrangements
• Employer Guide on Right of Entry
• Employer Guide on Right to Disconnect
ACCI is also in the process of developing more employer guidelines including a guide on wage theft which we hope to share with you in due course.
These guides are ‘living’ documents in the sense that they are for educational purposes only, and do not contain advice. They will be subject to ongoing updates as the legislation is interpreted by the Courts and the Fair Work Commission. We would strongly encourage any members facing issues in these areas to seek professional advice tailored to your specific needs.
