This engaging and informative webinar will introduce participants to the principles and application of trauma-informed practice in the workplace. Designed for managers, HR professionals, employees at all levels, and employment consultants. This session aims to enhance understanding of trauma and its impact on individuals, and to provide practical strategies for creating a supportive and resilient work environment for staff and for engaging with clients seeking employment.

  • Define trauma and recognise its potential impact on employees and the workplace.
  • Apply the key principles of trauma-informed practice to create a supportive work environment.
  • Identify signs of trauma and understand how to approach and support affected employees and clients seeking employment.

Ken brings over 20 years of experience into his role as Clinical Director in the Sunlight Centre. Ken has worked in crisis counselling centres, universities and schools over his career and brings this experience to his Workshops, client work and supervisor roles combining his qualifications in psychology, integrative counselling and CBT.

NESA Leadership Forum – July 2024

Our upcoming Leadership Forum has a full agenda with a focus on building a shared vision on the future shape of our sector.

The Forum will provide a platform for the Assistant Minister for Employment, the Hon Andrew Leigh MP, and the Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, and Shadow Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations, Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash, to share insights into their respective parties priorities for the employment sector. We will also be joined by senior executives from DEWR, DSS and NIAA and the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Our interactive session on NESA’s election priorities for 2025 federal election campaign will include a deep dive into the key issues important to you that you would like us to advocate for ahead of the election. I encourage you to be part of this critical conversation by joining us on 30 July.
