Summary
In partnership with Pure Insights, NESA is offering a coaching program designed to help you identify and address problems before they seriously jeopardise your participant’s placement or health. The coaching program aims to provide you with all the skills to help you understand and deal with these problems while working in a modern-day client-centred employment service.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Session one: Effectively identify abuse and neglect in the job placement context – Wednesday 8 May 2019 at 2pm AEST
Session two: How to work with participants who experience abuse and neglect in job placements – Wednesday 15 May 2019 at 2pm AEST
Session three: Enhance participants’ coping skills for protection at work from bullying, harassment and discrimination – Wednesday 22 May 2019 at 2pm AEST
Session four: Awareness and risk management tools for employers and participants – Wednesday 29 May 2019 at 2pm AEST
Expected outcomes
- Improve staff knowledge and understanding regarding abuse and neglect of their participants in job placements
- Identify tools and strategies to address early signs of abuse and neglect
- Obligation, information and support services for participants experiencing abuse and neglect
- Coping strategies for participants to increase self-identification of abuse and neglect and identifying where to seek help
- Risk management tools to encourage employers to identify potential signs of abuse and neglect in the workplace
FACILITATOR
Nicole Roy
Nicole has a Masters in Human Services, and specialises in psychology and rehabilitation counselling. She is a member of the Australian Society of Rehabilitation Counsellors (ASORC) and has extensive experience within employment and occupational counselling settings, as well as 20 years of experience in health education, stress and wellbeing management.
Nicole’s areas of specialisation include working with clients with complex mental health issues, crisis intervention for clients and staff, staff and client training for Employment Services, staff peer supervision and counselling, employment assistance counselling and management support.
