The LGBTQIA+ and TGD (Trans and Gender Diverse) community are a beautiful part of the fabric of life, and people from this community are also our colleagues, family members, friends and clients. This training has been developed to build your confidence in allyship to members of the LGBTQIA+, Trans and Gender Diverse community seeking support and services. This in turn will cultivate meaningful, respectful and effective communication with your clients. The heart of client facing working environments is communication that feels safe, comfortable and open for all people involved. When we understand, we can connect, and when we connect, we can conquer.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- What does LGBTQIA+, Trans and Gender Diverse actually mean?
- Why is inclusion important?
- What are pronouns and how do I use them?
- Fighting internalised homophobia, transphobia and bias.
- I want to be kind and respectful to everyone, but I am not confident in my understanding of the LGBTQIA+ community. What if I get it wrong?
- What do I do if I make a mistake?
- How can I be an ally?

Bringing an expansive professional background, having worked in the arts industry, event and project management, and being a successful business owner, Charlie brings a grounded and pragmatic approach to training, consultation and engagement. Charlie has always been a proud advocate for marginalised community voices and creating empathetic and culturally informed engagement strategies, communication and business practice.
